I admit it. I ate too much on Thanksgiving. And I probably will work too much on helping my family to finish all those Thanksgiving leftovers we were sent home with. I just don’t like to waste food.
So this morning, I got up and decided to get a fresh start and recharge my brain cells with fresh oatmeal and fruit.
I love steel cut oatmeal best, but when I don’t have the time, I just boil up some water and 5 minute quaker oats, and start with a solid base.
I prefer to add fresh fruit to my oatmeal, rather than cooking the fruit and removing the crispness and texture. Especially blueberries. Otherwise, you end up with blue oatmeal.
I feel better already!
